Rob Macko anchors News 10 weekdays at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. He joined KLFY News 10 in September 2014. Rob has been working in television news for more than 20 years.
Since arriving in Lafayette, Rob has covered major stories like the Grand Theatre Shooting, the officer involved shooting death of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, and the August 2016 flood.
Before coming to Acadiana, Rob spent three years as an anchor/reporter at WJCL-TV in Savannah, Ga. He covered breaking news, crime, government, the military and controversy.
Rob uncovered problems with emergency response times after the tragic death of a young boy in a neighborhood swimming pool in July 2014. His relentless reporting raised questions about government policies, rapid suburban growth, and confusion over jurisdictional boundaries.
In another series of stories, Rob’s reporting prompted leaders in one county to take action to address safety concerns on a dangerous road.
He appeared as a live guest on CNN in August 2012 to talk about a courtroom outburst in a soldier-led anti-government militia made up of soldiers from Fort Stewart, Ga.
Rob has also worked in Buffalo, N.Y., Rochester, N.Y., Erie, Pa., Greensboro, N.C., Harrisburg, Pa., and Binghamton, N.Y. Rob is originally from a small town near Erie, Pa., and is a proud graduate of Penn State University.
In his free time, Rob enjoys hanging out with his wife and three children, playing guitar, running, cooking, and exploring everything Acadiana has to offer. Feel free to connect with Rob on Facebook @RMackoKLFY or Twitter @RobMackoKLFY.
