Karaski Melvin has been KLFY’s weekend sports anchor since April of 2022. But he’s been on camera before that.
Three years prior, he made his on-screen debut as a contributor to the weekly high school football recap show, 1st and 10.
He also made appearances as a fill-in sports anchor as well.
Before KLFY, Karaski graduated from Northwestern State University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in broadcast journalism.
While there, the Mamou native wrote for the university newspaper, The Current Sauce.
Karaski also reported and anchored news, weather and sports for the school television show NSU 22.
He even did play-by-play for football and volleyball.
In 2016, Karaski began work as videographer at KLFY.
During that time, he got to enjoy the high school football experience, by shooting and editing football highlights.
A year later, he was named producer for News 10 at 6. He produced other shows as well.
He also served as a digital producer as well.
Karaski is a fan of various sports from the NFL to premiere league soccer.
When not covering or watching sports, Karaski enjoys sports entertainment (i.e. pro wrestling). He also likes anime and isn’t too shy to dress in costume (maybe even as a pirate).
