Jiovanni Lieggi

Jiovanni Lieggi is from Youngstown, Ohio and attended Kent State University for Broadcast Journalism. He joined KLFY News 10 in June 2020.

Before joining the team, Jiovanni previously worked at WKBN in Youngstown as a part-time multimedia journalist. He also interned for Fox News Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Growing up, Jiovanni wanted to pursue a degree in meteorology. However, after his first year of college, he decided he wanted to be on the front-lines covering impactful news stories.

His most memorable stories include covering the George Floyd protests in Cleveland, the largest immigrations customs enforcement raid in recent history, and heavy snowfall that caused dozens of accidents- including a 50+ car pileup in northeastern Ohio.

So why’d he move way down south? Well, he said it’s to explore a near area, try some good southern cooking and finally experience some warmer weather.  He’s very excited to meet new people and experience the Cajun and Creole cultures.

During his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, cooking, and hiking.
