PETRI
A new "Happy Tails" to share with you about a precious little guy named "Petri" and the wonderful woman named Sara who saved his life. Like many of us, Sara had lived through the loss of a beloved pet, and felt she could never open her heart to another one. Then, along came Petri. Here is Sara's story:
"There should be awards given out to those people who survived owning a Jack Russell Terrier. My dog was insane! His hobbies included standing on my shoulders, getting inside of my duvet cover and running around while I was trying to sleep, and fixing people's hair. (I know it sounds crazy, but it's true!) However, I loved that crazy boy, and no matter how bad he was, I couldn't stay angry at him long. Last year, my Jack Russell Terrier, Jackerootini, was hit by a car. As anybody would be, I was completely heartbroken, and I vowed to never get another dog again. That promise lasted about 2 months, and then I started looking at Petfinder.com for my new pal. I saw a lot of cute dogs, but it took me a couple of weeks before I found the perfect one for me! I'm still not sure what kind of dog Petri is, but judging by his ears, I think he might be part bat! I immediately fell in love with his oversized ears and his big eyes so I went to Roicy Duhon to check him out. He just seemed so nonchalant about everything, and I thought his calm personality might be a nice change from the crazy antics of a JRT. Things were not smooth sailing when I first got him. Petri had to be treated for kennel cough and heartworms, but now he is healthy and happy. He enjoys going to the new dog park on St. Julien, hiding my socks, and taking lots of naps. At 15 pounds, Petri is quite small, and it took me forever to figure out how he was in my bed with me when I woke up every morning. It turns out that another one of Petri's hobbies includes climbing fences! He would climb up the side of his kennel, and then he would jump onto my bed! So not only is he part bat, but he is also part ninja! What a smart boy.....I definitely got lucky with this one!"
Sara, thanks for sharing Petri's story with us, and we'll bet he's thanking his lucky stars that he found you!
