Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that as a result of undercover operations by members of the Acadia Parish Narcotic Strike Force, 10 more defendants have been arrested and placed in the Acadia Parish Jail.

Sheriff Melancon said charges range from distribution of marijuana to distribution of ecstasy and crack cocaine to name a few.

Arrested were:

  • Kellerick G. Mott, age 28 of McGowen Street, Rayne charged with distribution of Alprazolam.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $30,000.
  • Steve Onezine, age 30, Kathy Apartments, Crowley charged with distribution of marijuana.  District Judge Rubin set bond at $10,000.
  • Howard R. Clayborne, age 36, West 1st Street, Crowley charged with distribution of crack cocaine.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $30,000.
  • Theresa A. Daigle, age 46, St Jude Street, Church Point charged with distribution of methadone.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $15,000.  
  • Suzanne F. Richard, age 49, West Keller Street, Church Point charged with distribution of methadone.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $25,000.
  • Travis Thorne, age 23 of W 4th Street, Crowley charged with distribution of ecstasy.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $25,000.
  • Troy V. Moore, age 25, of W 4th Street, Crowley charged with distribution of marijuana.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $10,000.
  • Louis C Doffoney, age 22, Westwood Apartments, Crowley charged with distribution of cocaine.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $30,000.

In an unrelated incident Sheriff Melancon stated that a Narcotics Detective is recovering after sustaining a broken ankle during the arrest of Christopher J. Moore, age 31, East Betty Street, Rayne.   Moore was arrested after agents discovered a large amount of marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine in his possession. 

       Melancon said while attempting to arrest Moore he fled on foot, agents gave chase and upon apprehension of Moore a scuffle ensued and the detective's ankle sustained a break.

       Moore is being charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, resisting an officer, battery on an officer and simple escape.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $130,000.                              

       Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that Drug Strike Force agents arrested eight defendants on warrants issued for distribution of illegal narcotics following undercover operations in Acadia Parish.

Arrested were:

  • Omar Derrick Washington, age 18, of 6th Street, Rayne charged with two counts of distribution of Alprazolam.    District Judge Glenn Everett set bond at $40,000.
  • Morris Richard, age 45, of White Oak Hwy, Crowley charged with distribution of codeine.  District Judge Glenn Everett set bond at $10,000.
  • Briston Morgan, age 22, of Avenue G, Crowley charged with distribution of methadone.  District Judge Rick Michot set bond at $10,000.
  • Marcus Hollier, age 48, of South Main Street, Church Point charged with distribution of methadone.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $25,000.
  • Mitchell Hollier, age 45, of South Main Street, Church Point charged with distribution of crack cocaine.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $50,000.
  • Shawn Johnson, age 27, of MLK Drive, Church Point charged with distribution of crack cocaine.  District Judge Glenn Everett set bond at $25,000.
  • Ernest P. Fontenot (aka Fungus) age 67, of Mamou Prairie Road, Iota charged with distribution of Hydrocodone.  District Judge Rick Michot set bond at $10,000.
  • Michael Bourque, Jr., age 24, of St. Joseph Street, Morse charged with distribution of alprozalam.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $25,000.

       Sheriff Melancon stated that all defendants listed above are repeat offenders and have been prosecuted in Acadia Parish for drug offenses.

       In an unrelated incident, Drug Strike Force agents executed a search warrant at a residence on N Moss Street in Church Point. 

       According to Sheriff Melancon, Agents received information concerning a high volume of drug activity at a residence located on N Moss Street in Church Point.  Upon conducting an investigation, Strike Force Agents obtained a search warrant and upon executing the warrant arrested   Eric Texada, age 26, of N Moss Street Church Point. He was charged with distribution of crack cocaine.  District Judge John Trahan set bond at $40,000. 

During the search of the residence Agents also arrested Spencer Carrier of N Moss Street, Church Point for possession of marijuana.  Carrier claimed that the marijuana located in the residence belonged to him.

Two females along with juveniles were present at the time of the search but were released pending an investigation.   

According to Sheriff Melancon Texada and Carrier both have prior drug arrests with Texada currently on parole.
