BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Former Governor Buddy Roemer is at home, recovering from triple bypass heart surgery.
The 61-year-old Roemer entered the hospital a week ago for the surgery.
He went home from Baton Rouge General Medical Center on Saturday.
Roemer says he's doing fine, though he was a bit anemic after the surgery.
Since then, he says he's started walking for about five minutes, three times a day.
He says he hopes to build up his endurance over the next few weeks before slowly returning to work.
The heart problem was detected during a routine annual general physical when his doctor ordered a stress test.
