In the mood for some drive-thru? Well, here's a drive-thru that has food for thought. The Lafayette Parish Library System has two and the library director is hoping to see more people use it. To date, about five percent of patrons use the drive-thru sites installed at the Southside and Carencro Branches.

The drive-thru is part of the library and is for anyone wanting to drop-off or pick-up borrowed items. Terry Roy, the branch manager for Southside says all you need is a library card to place your order online or by phone.

"Allot of people have home computers. You can go online with their library card look for CD’s, DVD's, and books. They can place it on hold or if they don't have a computer and it’s not convenient. If they're on their way here they can just pick up the phone and say we're looking for this and do you have it on the shelf. If we have it we'll grab it and pull it for them and put it on the hold shelf for them."
