UPDATE: Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal reports the arrest of Forest Hogan, 23 of New Iberia for the charges of Attempted First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery.  Hogan was arrested on Sunday, July 27 at approximately 5:30 AM at a residence located in the 900 block of Mississippi St. in New Iberia without incident. Hogan’s arrest follows an investigation conducted by detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Investigation into the Saturday evening shooting and robbery of a 29 year old victim on Anderson St. near the intersection with Mixon St.  Hogan was identified as having fired the shot which struck the victim in the leg.  Hogan was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail without bond.  Detectives are continuing their investigation and additional arrests are expected.



Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a shooting incident which occurred Saturday, July 26 at approximately 7:30 PM. According to preliminary reports, deputies with the Patrol Division responded to the 600 block of Rosalie St. where a 29 year old male victim was located with a gun shot wound to the leg. According to the victim, three black male subjects attempted to rob him on Anderson St. near the intersection with Mixon St. when one of the subjects produced a hand gun and shot him. The three subjects then fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to a residence on Rosalie St. by family members. Acadian Ambulance Service transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition.

Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office detectives are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information relative to this shooting incident is urged to contact detectives at 337-369-3711.
