According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
On Friday, July 11th, three arrests were made as a result of a joint narcotics operation by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Unit.
After intercepting a suspicious package, which ended up containing one pound of suspected crystal methamphetamine, agents with Metro Narcotics, and The Vermilion Sheriff’s office Narcotics Unit, along with The Vermilion K-9 division, collaborated on suspects and intelligence gathering. Upon investigating, it was found that the illicit narcotics were going to a residence off of St. Elmo Rd in Erath.
A controlled delivery of the package was made to the residence, and agents from both divisions, along with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office SRT unit, executed a search warrant signed by 15th Judicial DistrictJudge Ed Broussard. Agents reacquired the pound of crystal methamphetamine which has an estimated street value of $100,000. More meth was found on the the suspects at the residence at the time of the investigation. Guns, weapons, and suspected drug proceed money were also seized.
Three persons in all were arrested as a result of this investigation.
-Ron Landry, (dob 9-21-77) of St Elmo St Erath, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine, illegal carrying of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and proceeds derived from drug transactions. $109,000.
-Michael Boudreaux (dob 11/18/80) of St Elmo St Erath, arrested and charged with principle to possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine. Total bond set at $105,000.
-Macquline Campbell (dob 11-21-75) of St Elmo St Erath, arrested and charged with principle to possession with the intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine, and possession of crystal methamphetamine. Total bond set at $105,000.
