The Louisiana National Guard soldiers from the 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team gather in Hattiesburg Mississippi for fourteen days each year during annual training at Camp Shelby.
The more than 33-hundred soldiers have the opportunity use mock situations, similar to what they would during war, to learn the different communication systems, tactics and weapons.
Staff Sergeant Christopher Tapie says being in the guard gives those who join skills that can compliment them in any profession, and has ultimately made an impact in his life, unlike any other experience.
