2014 Miss Georgia Pageant Thursday preliminary results and on-demand video

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

The 70th Annual Miss Georgia Pageant continued Thursday at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. Eighty women from across the state competed for academic scholarship and the titles of Miss Georgia 2014 and Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2014. The preliminary competition included Lifestyle and Fitness, Talent, and Evening Wear. Contestants were also judged in private interviews earlier in the week.

Miss Greater Columbus Outstanding Teen, Anna Maley and Miss Troup County Outstanding Teen, Lizzy Stanford were named preliminary winners in the Lifestyle and Fitness category. Miss Gwinnett County Outstanding Teen, Ansley Hawkins and Miss Starr's Mill Outstanding Teen, Abigail Feltner were named preliminary winners in the talent category.

Miss Capital City, Maggie Bridges was named a preliminary winner in the Lifestyle and Fitness Category. Miss Cherokee Rose, Patricia Lin Ford was named a preliminary winner in the talent category.

Preliminary competition will continue through Friday, June 20. The final night of competition will be held Saturday, June 21, and Miss Georgia 2014 and Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2014 will both be crowned. The winners will represent Georgia at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City on September 14th and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando on August 2nd. The Miss American Organization is the largest scholarship provider for young women, making available more than $45 million in cash and tuition scholarship assistance each year.

    Two men held a 50-year-old woman at knife point and took hundreds of dollars from her in a bank parking lot Friday, according to a police report.The woman told police the attack happened after she withdrew $700 from the Wells Fargo ATM on 13th Street.
