Three men have arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary following an investigation into an incident that occurred shortly before noon on Wednesday.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 4300 block of White Oak Hwy near Branch.Deputies immediately responded to the area and were able to arrest two of the suspects near Hwy 365 & Hwy 367.A third suspect fled into the nearby field and was apprehended several hours later.Deputies located and were able to recover over a dozen weapons that were taken from the residence.
Melancon commended the caller for getting involved and reporting the suspicious activity that led to their arrest.Once again the rural community, which included farmers, assisted law enforcement in locating and apprehending the third suspect.He was taken into custody and transported to the Acadia Parish Jail.
The three suspects are being identified as:
Brandon C. Guidry, age 20, of Ann Drive, Rayne
Cody J. Woodruff, age 17, of Allison Loop, Eunice
Nicklous R. Thomas, age 27, of Ann Street, Eunice
All three were charged with Aggravated Burglary.No bond has been set at this time.
