Updated:
EUNICE, La. (AP) - State police say a fifth person has died of injuries suffered in a head-on collision Friday in Acadia Parish. Trooper Stephen Hammons says 24-year-old Joshua Lejeune (luh-JUNE'), of Port Barre, died Saturday. Troopers say 44-year-old Laura Bartram and her 23-year-old son, Justin, both of Opelousas, died at the scene.

Hammons said the Bartrams and Lejeune were passengers in a car driven by 22-year-old Jacob Courville, of Eunice. Hammons say the car cross the center line of La. Highway 13 just south of Eunice and struck an SUV head-on. Hammons says Courville was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV, 29-year-old Jamie Prejean, of Mamou, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The sole survivor of the wreck, the driver of the SUV, suffered moderate injuries. (Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.) 6/2/2014 6:13:02 AM (GMT -5:00)
