'Blue Dog' returns to state archives

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A collection of acclaimed artist George Rodrigue's iconic Blue Dog work will be on display at the Louisiana State Archives beginning Tuesday.

The monthlong exhibit, which also will include several original Rodrigue paintings, runs through Monday, June 30.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler says Louisiana is grateful for the "generosity of the George Rodrigue Foundation for bringing the exhibit back to Baton Rouge" where it was first displayed in 2001.

The Louisiana State Archives, which identifies, collects, preserves and maintains state records and artifacts is located at 3851 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. It's open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
