Future of downtown Lafayette discussed at Acadiana Press Club
CEO of the Lafayette Downtown Development Authority, Nathan Norris, spoke at the Acadiana Press Club Monday about the future of downtown Lafayette and the Downtown Action Plan going forward.
Norris specifically addressed the implementation of residential living options in the downtown area as well as parking concerns and new development regulations that were recently implemented.
Norris says the new plan will help downtown Lafayette grow into a much bigger, thriving part of our local economy.
"This is the first real new plan that we've had in 25 years and it sot of addresses where we are today. There's been so much that's already been done and so many good things have happened but one of our biggest impediments downtown is the lack of residential living options. We don't give people that option right now so this downtown action plan is geared towards providing those options." said Norris.
