THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Nicholls State University plans to offer a culinary camp for youngsters.
The Daily Comet reports the Kids in the Kitchen camp will team registered dietitians and Nicholls dietetics faculty with campers to prepare healthy.
The camp is for children 9-14 years old. There will be two separate weeklong sessions, the first from 1-5 p.m. on June 2-6 and the second from 8 a.m.-noon on June 9-13. Campers will learn the importance of kitchen safety, how to properly measure ingredients and new recipes to help make some of their favorite foods more healthy.
The camp has a limit of 18 students per session. Registration is $140 for each weekly session. More information and registration is available by contacting the university's office of continuing education at 985-448-4444.
