Deadly weekend around Acadiana

It's been another deadly weekend around Acadiana as three people have died in unrelated accidents. 

On Saturday, a Cankton man died after crashing his 4 wheeler into a tree. That accident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday. Authorities say the driver, 40 year old Ronnie Thibodeaux, was traveling on wagon trail road when his bike veered to the right and collided into a tree. Thibodeaux was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Also on Saturday, a Kaplan man died when the tractor trailer he was operating flipped into a crawfish pond. Authorities say the incident occurred on Meridian Lane Road. According to Sheriff Mike Couvillion, 42 year old Douglas Beck was attempting to cross a steep embankment when the tractor flipped and the victim was pinned underneath. 

In Acadia Parish authorities say a bizarre fire claimed the life of a Church Point woman on Friday. According to police, 61 year old Eva Mathilda Goodley-Guillory was attempting to burn trash behind her home when suddenly the wind shifted, trapping Guillory. authorities say her death is being treated as an accident.
