Trio sought in New Iberia assault and robbery

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal reports on Tuesday, May 13 at approximately 10 PM detectives with the Bureau of Investigation were notified of an armed robbery, which according to the victim occurred at approximately 1 AM on Tuesday May 13 at the intersection of Pershing Street and Cherokee Street in New Iberia. 

According to the victim, he arrived at the intersection to meet with a female whom he had spoken to earlier over the internet. While speaking to the female, the victim was approached by three males who brandished guns and escorted him at gunpoint to his nearby residence where he was robbed of money, beaten and as a result sustained minor injuries.

The three male suspects then fled the area on foot. According to the victim, the black female was described as heavy set and approximately 5'4" in height. One of the suspects was described as a black male, approximately 5'11" in height wearing all black clothing with a black shirt covering his face. 

The second suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'4" in height wearing a white t-shirt, khaki pants with a mask covering his face. The third suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'6" in height wearing dark clothing with his face covered.
