150th anniversary of the Arlington National Cemetery

"The sad thing about it is a lot of people tend to forget," explains Santiny. Deron Santiny of Lafayette is a Navy veteran of Desert Storm. As a veteran of Iraq, he's medically retired from the army.

"The history behind Arlington and the amount of honor that comes with being there is overwhelming," adds Santiny.

Santiny honors each and every soldier. Santiny wants us to remember them all. "It's just not anyone can be buried there, you have to earn the privilege. It's a privilege that not everyone wants, but it's a privilege that's an honor to be given.

"Santiny carries the honor of a Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge - to name a few. He's also a member of the Wounded Warriors Project that aims to help those injured in action.

The anniversary of one of the nation's most sacred grounds brings the battle for freedom full circle. "Just don't let it be forgotten. Just don't let their sacrifice be forgotten," says Santiny.
