Chicken King restaurant robbed

Opelousas Police are investigating a late night armed robbery at the Chicken King Restaurant on East Prudhomme Street.

According to officials, the robbery happened shortly before 11 p.m. Friday night. A suspect armed with handguns entered the business through an employee entrance while employees were cleaning, according to a police report.

The suspect demanded money from the register and left the scene with close to $1,000 dollars. According to witnesses,the suspect is described as black male approximately 6'-6'2" thin build wearing a black hoodie with a blue bandanna over his face.
