St. Martin superintendent releases statement concerning school

St. Martin Parish School officials have released a statement about reported symptoms existing in the Parks community schools. Below is a statement from Lottie P. Beebe, Superintendent of St. Martin Parish Schools.

"There have been some reported symptoms of skin irritation by some students at Parks Community Schools. There is no reason to believe this is an infectious, or contagious outbreak. Those students who have reported symptoms at Parks Middle School will be excused. We are being proactive and have been working closely with officials from the Department of Health and Hospitals' Office of Public Health. We do not at this time believe that it is an infectious illness; therefore, we are exploring causes for the reported symptoms. "
