Man arrested after firing gun and crashing vehicle into building

A Lafayette man was arrested Monday after he fired a shot in the air from a pistol and then sped away crashing his vehicle into a building in the 700 block of Johnston St.

A Lafayette police officer observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway in the 100 block of Taft St. The suspect in the vehicle fired a shot in the air from a pistol and then sped away.

A short time later the suspect crashed his vehicle into a building in the 700 block of Johnston St. 

25-year-old Miles Guidry was arrested and charged with aggravated flight, illegal discharge of a firearm and OWI 2nd offense.
