The Better Business Bureau of Acadiana has received several concerned calls and inquiries concerning a letter from “Vehicle Administration Center.”
The BBB of Acadiana has concerns regarding misleading advertisement in the letter. The company is currently mailing letters into Acadiana residents that reads “2nd Attempt” in bold letters at the top, implying it is a debt collection.
It also reads “***EXTREMELY URGENT & TIME SENSITIVE***.” The mailing then goes on to say that an extended vehicle warranty is set to expire and offers to extend coverage on the vehicle. Only at the bottom of the letter does it say the letter is an advertisement and consumers may have received the letter because of information in their consumer report. It also reads financial acceptance is subject to the consumer’s ability to meet “full eligibility requirements.”
One elderly consumer wrote BBB, calling the letter “disturbing” because she panicked, thinking the advertisement was a collection notice, until she read the bottom of the letter.
The consumer went on to say the letter was “upsetting and embarrassing” because she thought she was being sent to collections over an unpaid debt that never existed. Currently, the company has an “F” rating with BBB for failure to respond to one complaint and BBB does not have sufficient background information on the business. http://www.bbb.org/washington-dc-eastern-pa/business-reviews/auto-warranty-plans/vehicle-administration-center-in-phoenixville-pa-235999388
