Your help needed with school system food collection

Updated:

Did you know that over 16 million American children live in poverty? For kids in need, starting the day with a nutritious breakfast can be a big challenge. Children who eat breakfast are better equipped to succeed academically and socially, and that's why Champions for Kids is teaming up with Diamond Foods and Walmart to help give kids the resources they need to thrive.

You can help by simply purchasing and donating breakfast food items at your local Walmart store from April 21 through May 5. All donations will help children in our school district.

The school district that collects the most donated items from a single Walmart store will also receive $10,000 from Champions for Kids. If Lafayette Parish wins, the money will go toward summer academic and enrichment programs for LPSS students.

This donation program is part of SIMPLE Giving, a collaboration between Champions for Kids, Diamond Foods, and Walmart that aims to provide resources to children across America.
