Traffic stop leads to marijuana bust

Carencro police arrested a Texas man after they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-49 at milepost 4 and found 11 pounds of marijuana.

Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, officers learned that the driver had a suspended driver's license, an open container in the vehicle and that a young child in the vehicle was not properly restrain. Officers received conflicting stories from the occupants of the vehicle about their activities on this date.

A search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of 11 pounds of marijuana, $870 in U.S. currency and a digital scale. Estimated street value of marijuana is $26,118.

37-year-old Clifton Lamb of Richmond, Tx. was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, monies derived from drug proceeds, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana second offense, possession of CDS in the presence of a minor.
