Easter Bunny in sensory friendly atmosphere

Acadiana Mall would like to invite autistic children and their families to visit the Easter Bunny in a sensory friendly atmosphere.

On Sunday, April 13th from 9:30am to 11:30am the Easter Bunny will be located in a space conducive to natural light and low noise. This atmosphere will give families affected by autism the opportunity to enjoy the Easter Bunny experience. Volunteers from the Autism Society of Acadiana and the Sensory Art Center will be on site to provide activities for the children while they wait to see the bunny.

Autism Society is Acadiana's support organization for everyone in the area affected by autism. The Autism Society of Acadiana was founded in 1985. They provide opportunities to meet other families and individuals on the autism spectrum and to also share experiences and information with others. They also distribute information and give referrals on where to find programs and services to benefit the entire family.

Sensory Art Center, located in downtown Lafayette, LA provides cognitive enhancement programs that use the arts in a multi-sensory environment to develop and exercise healthy brain function in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, traumatic brain injury and dementia.
