Earn College Credit in Paris this Summer With SLCC

Updated:

LAFAYETTE – SLCC's Study Abroad program is now registering students for a four-week summer French Immersion program in Paris, France. The French Summer Program 2014 is an intensive language and culture program led by Dr. Olivier Châtelain de Pronville, Languages and Study Abroad director.

The program provides students with the opportunity to develop French language skills and experience a rich and unique cultural environment while living in Paris. Students earn four credit hours from SLCC for the FRENCH 2300 course.

Students will be lodging in residence halls in the heart of Paris. They will attend classes every morning, take an exam every Friday, and complete a comprehensive final exam at the end of the course.

In the afternoon, students will work on assignments at locations throughout Paris, including catacombs, museums, botanical gardens, and fashion centers. The key element to this immersion program is that students will communicate in French.

The program is open to interested students and non-students. Space is limited and students are encouraged to register now.

For more information on SLCC's Summer Study Abroad Program, contact Dr. Olivier Châtelain de Pronville at olivier.chatelain@solacc.edu or by phone at (337) 521-9064. The Study Abroad office is in room 137 on the Lafayette campus, Devalcourt building.
