St. Mary Sheriff Responding to Call of a Bank Robbery

Updated:

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received a call of a robbery on Tuesday that took place at MC Bank on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista.

Deputies are working to identify and locate a subject who entered the bank, demanded money from an employee, and then left the location with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one inside the bank was injured during the robbery.

The suspect, as described by witnesses, appears to be a white male wearing blue jeans, dark colored shoes, and a baseball cap. Video surveillance pictures of the suspect have been released. Detectives, working with Morgan City police, have developed a possible connection to an incident that occurred at a Morgan City financial institution this morning.

Detectives are asking the public to assist in identifying a vehicle that they believe may have a connection to the crime. The vehicle was seen in the Morgan City area between 10:45 and 11 am Tuesday. The truck is described as an older model red pick-up with a wide silver stripe down the side.

Anyone with information on the crime or the identity of the subject in the pictures may contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-384-1622 or 337-828-1960.
