Gary: Today on your lawn & Garden we're talking about sprayers. You go to the store and you say, "oh, my goodness!" There are so many different kinds. So, John is going to give us an idea of what we need. John, I see a couple of selections here…
John: Yeah, well it depends how serious you are.
We have this little quart sprayer right here. It's a little pump sprayer. So you can go ahead and spray just about anything with it.
We have an inexpensive one gallon sprayer that, after a couple of years, don't worry about repairing it, just throw it away because they really don't cost much at all.
And then we have this one right here. This is the professional sprayer right here. We have all the parts on these if you need to change them out. Don't throw these away.
Then we have the hose-in sprayer which works real good. If you have weed killer you're putting in the yard, you put your weed killer in, set your dial and go. It makes it very easy.
For people that have an acre or bigger lawns we have this one right here. It's a battery operated that rolls. You can roll it around. It holds about nine gallons. We do have some larger than this, but this one holds nine gallons. It sprays very easily, there's no pumping so you don't have to worry about that. It recharges easy, it can go into a cigarette lighter or you can plug in at your home and do it that way. It'll last around four hours after you've charged it and it doesn't take long to recharge it again.
Mainly with these sprayers, people are always asking me, "what do I do if I go from using Round-Up to using an insecticide? I don't want to put Round-up on my garden!" One way is, you always have Clorox or chlorine around the house. Mix 2 or 3 ounces in here and wash it real good and run it through the hose and it will neutralize any chemicals. So then you can go with your other chemicals. We do have other things you can use to neutralize the chemicals in there but not everyone has that stuff on hand, but you always have Clorox.
