Eunice man arrested for armed robbery

Updated:

Eunice police arrested a man after they caught him running away from an armed robbery.

Police say 23-year-old Cardero Coleman of Eunice was seen wearing a gray hoodie and a stocking over his head with a pistol in his hand as he was running away from the Chevron on 801 W Laurel Ave.

Authorities spotted the suspect and ordered him to stop several times in the area of W. Vine and N 9th. When the subject refused to stop the officer deployed his taser and the subject fell to the ground. Officers say the suspect still had the cash and other items in his pockets from the robbery.

Officers then located the stocking cap and the firearm near 9th and Vine. The pistol used during the robbery was confirmed stolen from the Alexandria area.

Coleman was charged with armed robbery, resisting an officer, illegal carrying of weapons and illegal possession of stolen firearms. Coleman's bond was set at $97,500.
