Small Aircraft Crash at Acadiana Regional Airport

UPDATE:

Sheriff Louis Ackal advises the IPSO Communication Center received a call from the AcadianaRegional Airport, at approximately 3:10pm to report an aircraft accident west of the runway. A single engine aircraft crashed near 4100 Industrial Drive. The pilot, 72 year old Thomas Belisle of Stockton, CA was the only occupant aboard the single engine aircraft. Mr. Belisle has been transported to an area hospital with what appears to be minor injuries. Mr. Belisle was traveling from an air show in Lakeland Florida to visit friends in New Iberia when the accident occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.

 

A small aircraft crash has been reported at the Acadiana Regional Airport in New Iberia. Officials say the pilot is up and walking around despite minor injuries. No others appear harmed in the incident.

The FAA will investigate the crash.
