Chief of Police and Mayoral Elections held in Acadiana

Several Acadiana towns and cities hosted elections on April 5th. Polls opened at 7am with voters in St. Landry Parish casting votes for a new school board member for District 10. St. Martinville, Erath, Kaplan and Franklin voters turned out to see who would hold the position of mayor. In the Town of Arnauldville, voters chose who would lead as chief of police.

 

Selected notable races around Acadiana

Hazel McCrea-Sias (D) has won the Saint Landry District 10 School Board seat by 43.20% of the vote

Thomas Nelson (D) has won the race for Mayor -- City of St. Martinville with 45.10% of the vote.

Kirk Champagne (D) has won the race for Mayor – City of Kaplan with 62.06% of the vote.

John Earl LeBlanc (D) has won the race for Mayor – Town of Erath with 64.60% of the vote.

Raymond Harris, Jr. (N) has won the race for Mayor –City of Franklin with 65.55% of the vote.

Kenneth "Toby" Wetzel (D) won the Chief of Police – Town of Arnaudville race with a majority vote.
