LOPA and local hospital honor organ donors

Updated:

The Louisiana Organ Procurement Association and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center honored local heroes on Tuesday who have given life and sight through organ, tissue and cornea donation.

The family of LOPA hero, Christian Nelson, shared their experience of having their son save lives by saying yes to donation.

The Donate Life Louisiana flag was raised by his family, along with Our Lady of Lourdes staff.

Christian's flag will fly the entire month of April in an effort to raise awareness about the crucial need for organ donation.
