Decision expected on new college campus

Updated:

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) - A decision could be made in April on a new location for South Louisiana Community College's campus in St. Martinville.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System spokesman Quintin Taylor tells The Daily Iberian that the school is seeking a site to build a 36,000-square-foot building.

The college's current building is in disrepair and the cost to renovate it would be more than the expense of building a new campus, college officials have said.

Three sites are under consideration - two in St. Martinville and one in Breaux Bridge.

The decision will be made by the board that oversees the state technical college system, Taylor says.
