On March 28, 2014 shortly before noon the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance complaint at 543 Prosper Street apartment 11. 

Upon arrival officers found a male subject inside the residence with a stab wound.  The male subject was transported to Mercy Regional Medical center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family.  No further information is available at this time and Chief Lartigue stated that this incident is still under investigation.
