Police are searching for answers after finding a longtime Abbeville resident dead in his yard.
The incident happened around 10:30PM March 13th on Fairview Avenue. According to one family member who happens to be an Abbeville city councilor and minister, the victim was Paul Plowden. The middle aged man was found dead in his yard after gunshots rang out. Neighbors say they saw Plowden face-down covered in blood. For those who knew the victim, this tragedy is all too familiar.
Councilman Wayne Landry said the victim recently lost his son to a shooting. Landry went on to say Paul was a great guy and always tried to get along with everyone. He even recently tried to get a job at Abbeville City Hall. Councilman Landry said this is a reminder that these types of tragedies can happen anywhere, even in an upscale neighborhood like Fairview Avenue.
No arrests have been made. Anyone having any information about this incident is asked to contact the Abbeville police at 337-893-2511.
