NEW ORLEANS, La. – The sixth-ranked Louisiana baseball team picked up a 7-4 victory on the road at Tulane on Wednesday night as the Cajuns bullpen closed the contest out with six scoreless innings of relief retiring 15 straight at one point in the contest at Turchin Stadium. The win improves the Ragin' Cajuns to 14-2 on the year and 6-0 on the road.

Senior Ryan Wilson earned his first win of the season and seventh of his career holding the Green Wave to one run on two hits and three strikeouts in three innings.

Starter Cody Boutte was solid in a no decision throwing two scoreless innings with three of the team's 12 strikeouts in the contest.

The Ragin' Cajuns equaled Tulane (9-6) with 10 hits in the contest led by shortstop Blake Trahan who was 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and scored two runs. Seth Harrison continued his hot hitting picking up his eighth multi-hit game of the year going 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and scored a run.

Zach Flowers was tabbed with the loss after giving up three runs on three hits with a strikeout in one inning of relief to fall to 0-1 on the year.

Tyler Girouard gave the Cajuns a 2-0 advantage in the top of the first doubling down the left field line to score Trahan and Harrison. Trahan reached on a one-out single to left and then moved to second when Harrison was hit by a pitch.

The Green Wave threatened in the bottom of the second loading the bases with two outs, but Boutte induced a ground ball out back to himself to end the inning unscathed.

Caleb Adams increased the lead to 3-0 in the top of the third after crushing a solo home run into the teeth of the win and over the fence in left.

Tulane exploded for four runs on four hits in the bottom of the third to take a 4-3 lead. A two-run double by Hunter Hope highlighted the scoring in the inning.

The Ragin' Cajuns answered in the top of the fourth plating three runs on three hits and two Green Wave errors to go back in front 6-4. Ryan Leonards came in to score on a throwing error to tie the game at 4-all. Later in the inning, Trahan doubled to left to score Dylan Butler from third. In the next at bat, Harrsion doubled to left to score Trahan to round out the scoring in the inning.

In the top of the fifth, Louisiana added a run on a perfectly executed suicide squeeze by Leonards scoring Adams from third to make the score 7-4. Adams walked to lead of the inning and then stole second before moving to third on a ground ball to short by Jace Conrad.

Ben Carter, Matt Hicks and Reagan Bazar combined to throw four scoreless innings to close out the ball game scattering three hits with six strikeouts, while Bazar notched his third save coming into the game in the ninth.

The Cajuns return to action on Friday at 6 p.m. as they head to Monroe, La. to open Sun Belt Conference play with a three-game series against ULM. First pitch on Saturday is 6 p.m., while the series finale is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
