The Sports Complex in Youngsville is a $15 million project. A project initially slated to be ready by January, but that date was changed for two reasons with weather being one.

"We probably had one of the worse winters we had in a long time.  It's mainly been weather delays," says Director of the Sports Complex, Tim Robichaux.

Robichaux says building delays and especially the weather delayed moving the project forward. He is hoping to open the complex by the end of April. "Probably 80 percent complete. There's still a lot left to do but things are going to start to happen pretty quickly now. They're making really good progress," adds Robichaux.

Robichaux realizes  baseball and softball season is coming up for a lot of youth organizations. He plans to be able to accommodate them if he can get the sports up and running.

"A lot of the weekend events, those tournament organizations are just kind of waiting for us to get open. So, we pretty much have the tournaments ready to go for when we open up," says Robichaux.

Once complete the complex will be able to house a number of sporting activities - just to name a few; soccer, softball, baseball and tennis.
