Convenience store manager accused of selling synthetic marijuana

A convenience store manager in Opelousas was arrested after authorities say he was selling synthetic marijuana to costumers.

51-year-old Mohamed Hayyani was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail facing three counts of distribution of a schedule I CDS.

Authorities conducted a search warrant at the Circle K at 708 East Vine Street in Opelousas.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz says the sheriff's department received numerous tips that Circle K employees were selling synthetic marijuana to costumers.

Guidroz adds that agents also searched the residence of Mohamed Hayyani and seized from both the business and the residence approximately 200 packs of synthetic marijuana and approximately $8,000.
