Krewe of Bonaparte parade rolls through Lafayette

Updated:

The Krewe of Bonaparte held their parade Saturday evening.

Here in Louisiana especially Southwest Louisiana, Mardi Gras is a time of year that attracts the attention of people of all ages.

Krewe of Bonaparte has been in existence for many years.

"Krewe started roughly about 42 years ago. It was a group of people in Lafayette that wanted a spin off from another crew and basically six or eight people got together and here we are today 42 years later." said President of the Krewe of Bonaparte Hunter Trahan.

During lasts weeks in-climate weather, the krewe's floats sustained heavy damages. And Saturday's parade may not have been possible without the help of the Krewe of Rio.

"I want to give a shout out to the Krewe of Rio and all of their Board of Directors for doing such a great job turning these floats around. I want to give a shout out to the Southwest Mardi Gras Association for allowing us to get in this partnership with the Krewe of Rio." said Trahan.
