Lafayette police responded to a parking lot at 120 E. Gloria Switch Road on Wednesday regarding an attempted Carjacking.

The victim told police she was entering her vehicle when the suspect forcefully removed her and threw her to the ground.  Once inside of the vehicle, the suspect was unable to operate it due to the fact it was a manual transmission.  The suspect then ordered the victim to get back into the vehicle, but the victim refused.  The suspect then fled the area on foot.

Officer responding to the scene located the suspect a short time later.  The suspect, Harold Sam (18) of Scott, was arrested and charged with Attempted Carjacking, Attempted Simple Kidnapping, Resisting an Officer and Possession of Marijuana.  The victim was not injured during the incident.
