2 arrested in Opelousas drug bust

Opelousas police served a search warrant at 1646 Iris Dr. as a result of several months of covert narcotic investigations that lead officers to obtain and execute the search warrant.

The warrant was served and 36 gram size baggies of powder cocaine were located concealed inside a Valentines teddy bear. Evidence of distribution and processing were also located in the residence, including scales and packaging materials used for the purpose of selling the cocaine product. Officers also seized over $5000 in cash as well as a 2005 Dodge Magnum, involved the distribution operation.

The estimated street value of the narcotics is valued at $3000.00. Arrested and charged were:

Terrance Hatfield and Jasmina Jospeh were booked for Possession with intent to Dist. Schedule II narcotics, possession of a C.D.S. in the presence of persons under 17, and Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses. Joseph was additional charged with obstruction of justice.
