Eunice woman arrested for identity theft

Updated:

A victim filed a report with the Eunice Police Dept as soon as he noticed discrepancies with his bank account.

Officers immediately launched an investigation into the unauthorized transactions at several local businesses.

Unauthorized purchases included $850 from Walmart, $93 from Dollar General, and attempted purchases of $254 and $139 at Fred's Pharmacy.

All purchases and attempted purchases were captured on video surveillance systems at the businesses.

A female suspect, identified as Rasheedah Taylor, who is employed by a local fast food establishment, was identified by officers.

She was then located and brought in for questioning during the investigation Friday.

Taylor was then booked on charges of felony identity theft and being held in the Eunice City Jail without bond pending an appearance in 27th Judicial District Court Tuesday.

This is the first such arrest by our agency for card cloning.
