PlanLafayette organizers hold reception at Science Museum

Updated:

Saturday marked the fifth day of PlanLafayette week and second Saturday in the month, that means another edition of Artwalk was held in the Hub City.

Before the start of Artwalk, dozens gathered at the Lafayette Science Museum for a special reception with live music and dancing from Rareluth.

The reception featured an exhibit highlighting the comprehensive plan for the future of Lafayette. LCG Chief Development Officer Kevin Blanchard talks about the focus of plan Lafayette week.

"We're going to come up with different ways, different approaches, to make sure that we're thinking ahead, that we're planning for the next 20 years rather than just letting things happen as they will. Trying to come up with a new plan for the city that's going to make us competitive for the future, while at the same time being financially responsible with limited tax dollars." said Blanchard.

PlanLafayette week will take a break on Sunday, but the city's comprehensive plan week will pick up on Monday through Wednesday with a full schedule. For more information on the rest of the events, go to www.planlafayette.com.
