The Opelousas Police Department's Crime Suppression Team served a search warrant at 1324 Trosclair Street late Friday night, after conducting surveillance on the residence for several days.
Once inside, officers located 2 ounces of hydro-marijuana, 4 ounces of additional marijuana, and 16 ounces of promethazine codeine syrup along with drug paraphernalia. The drugs were valued at nearly $2,500.
David Rideaux was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I and a Schedule V drug along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rideaux will go before a magistrate on Monday morning.
