Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols announced Monday that state government offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 28, in the following parishes across Louisiana where hazardous driving conditions and scattered power outages are forecast for the morning due to a mix of rain and sleet, as well as snow and ice accumulation:
Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, LaFourche, LaSalle, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Sabine, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Terrebonne, Vermillion, Vernon, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana
State officials continue to monitor weather conditions across the state, and this announcement may be updated.
All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty or those who should report to alternative work sites if necessary.
