Waste collection canceled for Wednesday

Updated:

Due to anticipated hazardous road conditions on Wednesday, Allied Waste will not run any of its Wednesday residential garbage collection routes throughout Acadiana.

At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the Recycling Foundation will assess weather and road conditions and determine whether it will run curbside recycling collection routes.  Should the company run, regular Tuesday collection routes will be run due to the company not running on Tuesday.

Due to Allied Waste cancelling its regular Tuesday and Wednesday garbage collection routes, Tuesday through Friday customers will receive garbage collection two days following their regularly scheduled day.

This adjusted garbage schedule includes regular Thursday customers receiving collection on Saturday, and regular Friday customers receiving service on Sunday.

Due to winter weather conditions, Waste Management will suspend all residential and commercial garbage collection services in the cities of Broussard, Duson and Youngsville, as well as St. Martin Parish,on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Regularly-scheduled routes will be collected as follows:
·         City of Broussard residential recycling customers that normally receive service Wednesday will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 31. Commercial customers that normally receive service Tuesday will be serviced on Thursday, Jan. 30.

·      City of Duson customers that normally receive service Tuesday will be serviced on Thursday, Jan. 30.

·      City of Youngsville customers that normally receive service Thursday will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 31.

·      St. Martin Parish customers that normally receive service Tuesday will be collected Thursday, Jan. 30; those that normally receive service Wednesday will be serviced on Friday, Jan. 31. Customers normally serviced on Thursday or Friday should place their carts out for collection on Friday, Jan. 31, in the evening for weekend collection.
