The International Trade Development Group (ITDG), advisory board to Le Centre International de Lafayette, is pleased to announce that the 2014 International Achievement Award (IAA) will be bestowed upon Acadiana Bed and Breakfast hoteliers.

The presentation will take place during the annual Festival International Reception sponsored by Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) in the lobby of Iberia Bank, 200 West Congress Street in downtown Lafayette, on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 6 pm. This reception will occur immediately before the opening ceremony of Festival International. The Bed & Breakfast owners will receive the award on behalf of their organization.

Leslee Haseltine, IAA chair, stated during the January 16th presentation: "We are pleased and honored to recognize these Acadiana Bed and Breakfasts for their significant contribution to Acadiana's reputation as a very hospitable and joyous place to visit. For many international travelers, B&Bs are the initial welcoming door to our culture, tourism and way of life.

B&B owners graciously demonstrate our renowned Acadiana joie de vivre, famous food and hospitability. Their international guest percentage ranges from 30-98%. While their hosting capacity is far less than our hotel community, their percentage of international customers is much more. Many have welcomed guests from Canada, U.K., France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Denmark, Finland, Greece, China, South America, Australia, the Caribbean and the Philippines.

The Hoteliers foreign language skills and knowledge of Cajun culture has greatly attributed to their ongoing success.

It is our honor to recognize our first line ambassadors: Their warm welcome deeply enhances the international reputation of Acadiana."

According to Ben Berthelot, President & CEO of Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission, "these Bed and Breakfasts play a huge role in providing the hospitality that our international visitors have come to love and appreciate in our area."

Recipient B&Bs are:

· Aaah! T'Frere's House B&B - Lafayette, LA

· Acadian Bed & Breakfast - Lafayette, LA

· Bayou Cabins - Breaux Bridge, LA
