Vehicle struck by train in New Iberia

Iberia Parish Sheriffs Deputies say a vehicle was struck by a freight train Thursday as it was crossing the railroad tracks at Corrine Street and West Washington Street in New Iberia. 

According to deputies the vehicle was headed South on Corrine as it was struck by the train. 

The driver of the vehicle, Bernard Davis of New Iberia, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. No other passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office traffic division is currently investigating the cause of the crash. 


 

Iberia Parish Sheriffs Deputies are on the scene of a train vs. car collision at the intersection of Corrine and Washington Streets in New Iberia.

Little is known at this time but deputies say there appears to be no serious injuries. We have a crew headed to the scene and we'll bring you more as soon as more is available.
