Funeral services set for Kaplan woman found dead in Lake Charles

Funeral services for the Kaplan woman who was killed in Lake Charles on Wednesday will be held Saturday, January 11.

Services for 25-year-old Mia Katherine Trahan will be held at 1 p.m. at Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Kendal Faulk officiating the services.

Visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 10, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Saturday, January 11, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.

Police say they found Trahan and 32-year-old Kody Todd Fontenot of Branch dead at a residence in Lake Charles. Police say Fontenot shot Trahan then shot himself.
